Types of Visits We Offer

Book Jams

  • Grades K Through 3rd

    A presentation of a newly published picture books or an old favorites. Fiction and non-fiction pairing can be requested. Two to three stories are read to the class with a brief comprehension discussion afterwards.

  • Grades 4th & 5th

    A a 30 to 45 minute presentation of new and favorite authors, titles and genres that have been chosen specifically for your grade level. Time permitting, first pages are read to hook the readers. Every student receives a handout with a list of book titles recommended.

  • Curriculum Connection

    Can be geared towards subjects or Common Core requirements for your classroom. We have a wide variety of available subject matter. A one-month lead way is required to gather the material for presentation.

  • STEAM Connection

    STEAM activites are connected through an emphasis on the Arts. Previous STEAM activities include fossils, rock slides, and forces & motion. A two-month lead time is needed to prepare and prep for your classroom.

    We present books centered around your chosen topic of study.

  • Library Database

    We also offer discussions on using the library's available databases.

creative writing

  • Poetry Month

    For the month of April, we celebrate Poetry Month by offering a hands-on creative workshop in the classroom.

  • Writing Workshop

    The writing workshop creates a three-panel comic, connecting the writing process to the who, what, where, when and why of a story.
