Online Resources

The library always has a variety of online resources available to patrons, many of which are paid services accessible with a valid library card. However, we are fortunate that many vendors are offering their resources for free or free of copyright restrictions during this time. Thus, many of the resources below are easily accessible to everyone. For those that still need a valid library card, you can now register online or see our FAQs for info about reinstated cards. You can also contact us at or 708-672-8017.

As you probably know, the Crete Public Library is part of the SWAN Library Services consortium and the Reaching Across Illinois Libraries System (RAILS). They are also trying to keep everyone up-to-date on free resources available to all libraries, so be sure to check their webpages for additional resources that we might have missed: SWAN Parent and Student Resources and RAILS (Free Educational Resources, Free and Discounted e-Content Resources, and Virtual Tours/Entertainment (note that some of these require the library to have an account).
