The Friends of the Crete Public Library is a nonprofit, 509(a)(2) organization whose purpose is to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs. The Friends provide funds to improve the Library collection and sponsor programs, and Friends members also volunteer to help with programs and special projects.

Donations

The Friends accepts a limited amount of donations of used books in good condition, DVDs, and CDs (please no encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, or videotapes). Limit of ten (10) donated items per person as the Library has limited storage space.

Friends Meeting Dates

The Friends meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month (except for June, July, and December) at 6:30 pm in the library. New members are welcome to join at any time.

Membership is open to everyone at the following levels:
Individual: $10
Family: $15
Sponsor: $25
Corporate: $50

Members are not required to volunteer, however, there are a number of opportunities to get involved. These include helping with book sales and fundraising activities and providing assistance to the Library staff when requested. Members who provide an email address will receive a quarterly e-newsletter.
