Donating to the Crete Public Library
The Crete Public Library District is supported through local property taxes, but it is through the generous donations from individuals and organizations that the Library provides many of its extra services and materials. There are a number of ways to make a donation to the Crete Public Library District and its supporting organizations. For more information please view our Gifts & Donations Policy.
When donating to the Library, please fill out our Memorial/Honorarium Donation Form.
GENERAL DONATIONS:
May be made directly to the Crete Public Library District. Donors may determine an area of interest or select if they would like to support either adult or children’s services.
MEMORIALS:
Books, movies, even magazine subscriptions may be purchased for the Library’s collection in memory or in honor of a loved one. Donors generally recommend a specific title or suggest a field of interest appropriate to the person in whose name the donation is being made. The Library staff will purchase something within the designated dollar range based on these recommendations, and a memorial plaque will be placed on the item. The family of the individual will be notified of the gift if so desired.
FRIENDS OF THE CRETE PUBLIC LIBRARY:
The Friends of the Crete Public Library is a nonprofit 509(a)(2) organization providing ongoing support for collection development and programming. Its ongoing Book Sale annually supplies funds for the adult and children’s summer reading programs, Senior Day, and many other library events. The Friends meets once-a-month on the fourth Tuesday, except June, July and December. To become a Friend of the Library, please visit the Friends of the Crete Public Library.
