Lincoln Legacy Learning Kits
Explore Lincoln's accomplishments and the contributions of his thoughts, ideals and actions in a way that will enlighten and inspire your students.
These self-contained kits are designed for use in grades 5 through 8 but can be adapted to suit both older and younger students. Each kit contains multiple copies of age appropriate books, reproduction documents, artifacts and photos, music CDs, and videos as well as lesson plans and a Teachers Resource Guide CD. Kits include four units of study on the life of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War Era.
Lincoln Kits trifold
The Lincoln Legacy Learning Kits address Illinois' learning standards. They meet the needs for integrated curriculum by combining social studies topics with Language Arts, Reading, Fine Arts, and even, Mathematics, Geography, and Science. These kits and their concepts provide experiential learning using concrete objects and situations.
Funding for this project was awarded to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum by the Illinois State Library, a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
