Registering to Vote

The Crete Public Library is pleased to offer voter registration services most days from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and some evenings and weekends. Please call for availability of a deputy voter registrar during evening or weekend hours.

You can register if you are:

  • A  U.S. citizen
  • 18 years old by the date of the next election
  • Residing at your current address for 30 days prior to the election.

To register, you will need:

  • Two forms of ID; one must have your legal name, address, and proof of age.

These may include: driver’s license, state ID, utility bill, checkbook, library card, credit card, birth certificate, Social Security card, employee ID, student ID, insurance card.

If a deputy registrar is not available, you can register to vote at the Will County Clerk’s website:

If you do register online, you must vote IN PERSON the first time you vote. See the above website for more information or call the Will County Clerk’s Office at 815-740-4620.
