Focus Group Wrap-up
The Crete Public Library would like to thank everyone who participated in the focus groups held in October. More than 50 people, including representatives from the village, township, local businesses, schools and the park district, attended the sessions and provided a lot of wonderful ideas and priorities for the re-design of the library space. Some of the ideas that most resonated with the community were:
- Additional meeting room space, including a medium-sized space for 20-30 people and semi-private meeting spaces for smaller groups
- More comfortable seating
- More computers, collaborative computing and more technology classes
- Separate children’s story time/program area
- A better teen space
- Self check-out
- Drive-up book return
- Additional food and drink options
This feedback, plus the results from the surveys completed last spring, will provide the foundation for a remodeling plan to create a more flexible, comfortable and multi-functional library that will better meet the quickly changing needs of our community
