Cards are
issued free of charge to residents living within the
library district of Crete and Crete Township.
Card applicants
must provide two forms of identification; one must be a
picture ID. Acceptable forms of identification are:
- Driver's
License or State ID
- Tax Bill
- Utility
Bill
- Postmarked
Mail
- Voter's
Registration Card
- Listed in
Phone Book
Parents must
apply for a library card and internet access in person
at the library Circulation Desk. A parent or guardian
must sign the application for minors under the age of
18. Guardians must show legal guardianship or foster
care documents.
The Crete
Public Library is part of the
Metropolitan Library System.
Your Crete card may be used at all other MLS
libraries as part of our reciprocal borrowers plan.
Crete residents
may obtain cards at the Chicago Public Library by
presenting their Crete card at any Chicago Public
Library.
You are
responsible for all items borrowed on your card. REPORT
A LOST, MISSING OR STOLEN LIBRARY CARD IMMEDIATELY by
contacting the Crete Library.
Library cards are issued to
individuals. The library expects the card to be used
only by the endorser. (Special situations will be
handled on a case-by-case basis.) Parents are asked to
share with their children the importance of this card
and the responsibility it entails.
Most library materials may be renewed either in
person, by telephone, or online. Please have your
library card and the items handy when you call.
